Behind the Scenes of Extreme Edale for EMIS

August 28, 2019

From the initial planning stages, Story were thorough and forensic in their analysis of the brief, which enabled them to perfectly translate the event in to a compelling and emotive story using both video and photography.

They formulated a detailed plan to ensure they could honour all the requests we had made, and were quick and decisive when the plan needed to change, or a better opportunity arose which they advised would be worth capturing.

Story understood the need for quick delivery to maintain the fundraising momentum. To achieve this they developed catchy and humorous snippets for us to use on our internal communication platforms straight after the event swiftly followed by the main video and photo album.

EMIS Health are one of the country’s leading healthcare software and solutions companies. With thousands of employees, they are in a position to give something back to the community and so every year choose a charity to support through a variety of fundraising activities.

In 2019 they are supporting Mind and one of their key fundraising activities saw staff from across the company tackling four different challenging treks through the Peak District.

Story were on hand to capture the event through both film (Jimi Lund) and photography (Tim Emmerton), with a brief to celebrate the achievements of the participants and encourage more engagement in future events.

We delivered a range of assets including the suite of images, a video slideshow and the main documentary film.

With the events varying in length, including one group who would be walking through the night, Story were on site the day before, staying with the walkers overnight and getting up early to meet up with the groups at various checkpoints.

Nevertheless, getting enough footage of the disparate groups was still going to be a challenge and so GoPro’s were distributed among the walkers to supplement the footage from our crew.

We enjoyed the physical and logistical requirements of this project and we’re already in training for any future challenges EMIS or any other clients might have to throw at us!
